An ELT Glossary : Anacoluthon
Definition : Most common in spontaneous speech, when a speaker starts one sentence but then changes to another grammatical construction. May occur in written text if the writer wants to imitate spoken discourse, or if s/he simply makes a mistake. Example : " We didn't want to... couldn't really go immediately."
