Pre-Exam Weekly Questions - Week Ten

Next Wednesday you'll be sitting the exam. If you've spent the last few months revising consistently, including working through the tasks in this series, you should be well-prepared by now. But there's still time to go over everything again and check your progress. What can you do in the next few days? Here are some suggestions.

1.  Have you done all the tasks in the last nine weeks of this series? If not, go back and finish them off. You'll find the links here (scroll down). If you have, try repeating them and then comparing your answer with both the suggested answer and your previous answer. Can you see an improvement in the content or formatting of your answer this time? If not, make a note of where you went wrong. Keep it in mind as you work through the activities in 2 and 3 below.

2. If you haven't already done them, these activities will help you discover whether you have any remaining weaknesses in the syllabus areas or tasks on the two papers. They're long, so leave plenty of time to do them and follow up on anything you got wrong (90-120 minutes).  If you can't complete an activity in one sitting, check your answers up to that point and do the suggested follow-up reading for any question you had problms with. Then take note of the question number where you stopped, and go back and start from there next time.

Ignore the references to specific units - they're left over from our full course, but unfortunately I can no longer change them.

3. And finally, here are some revision activities that might be useful to give you further practice with the areas you diagnosed as weaknesses. As always, you'll receive suggested answers, feedback on common mistakes and suggested follow up reading (as relevant) when you submit your answers. Ignore the references to specific units - they're left over from our full course, but unfortunately I can no longer change them. See the comment above about references to specific units.

And for various areas which might be focused on in Paper 1 Task 5, see the Language Matters section of the Notebook and complete any tasks you've not yet looked at
